Breast Augmentation Prices and Payment Options

For women who are unhappy with the shape, size, or appearance of their breasts, breast augmentation may offer a viable solution. Breast augmentation has many long lasting benefits, including improved confidence and improved body image. With breast augmentation, the breasts can be made to look fuller, firmer, symmetrical, and more youthful. The costs of breast augmentation depend on many factors, such as the type of implant used and the skill of the surgeon. For our Edina plastic surgery patients, we offer affordable payment plans to help you achieve the body of your dreams.
Options in Breast Augmentation
When electing to have breast augmentation you need to be aware of your options from the type of implant to the type of incision used in your procedure, as these factors will affect the cost of treatment.
There are two types of breast implants: saline and silicone. Saline implants have silicone shells that are filled with saline, a sterile salt water solution. Saline implants are filled after placement, allowing for a smaller incision site. Saline implants are very safe. In the event of rupture, the body will absorb the saline solution with generally no problems. Silicone is the other option in breast implants. Silicone implants are typically more expensive than saline but many find they look and feel more natural.
There are different types of incisions used in the breast-augmentation procedure, inframammary, periareolar, and transaxillary. The inframammary incision is hidden beneath the breast, in the natural crease. The periareolar incision is another incision option; the incision is made along the outer edge of the areola to help hide any scarring. The transaxillary incision is made in the armpit, eliminating any scarring of the breast. Though this approach provides the benefit of unscarred breasts, it can lead to more complications since the implant must travel further beneath the tissue to reach proper placement in the breast.
